Your song, our Friend

I wanted to tell you...
a dear friend of ours just died. William Gibson, also known as Farmer Bill, here in Portland, Oregon. He was in a band with my best friend Susie and they called themselves the Bittersweet Farm Band. And they always performed Man Alive. Every time. Now he's left this place and I am learning the guitar part that he played so I can play and Susie can sing it at his funeral. So I guess I want to say Thank You. Thank you for this beautiful song that will always, for many of us, represent our dear Bill. Good chance I will cover it at every show I ever play for the rest of my life.
With love,
Alexandra (Lex) Hanes.
